  • June 2016 - Began scene descriptions & building crew & designing shots
  • July 2016 - 10% of crew confirmed; began location scouting
  • Aug 01 - Began developing camera rigging designs for bullet scenes
  • Aug 08 - Began taking measurements for The Room & set design
  • Aug 15 - Contacted Jack for production assistance & created inexpensive workaround for some crew and equipment costs
  • Aug 18 - Stripped old drums for "camera-barrel" assembly 
  • Aug 20 - Confirmed Joey for prop design of The Machine (possibly to customize the gun as well)
  • Aug 29 - Begin designing score
  • Sep 05 - Test video of "Basement Scene"
  • Sep 08 - Began shot design for experimental photography scenes
  • Sep 10 - Developing fundraising plan
  • Sep 12 - Began resolving makeup/effects issues for "It"
  • Sep 20 - Working out twist rates of various bullets/guns
  • Sep 23 - Contacted rights-holder of "Unchained Melody" (Plan A); Developed Plan B (cover "UM" as part of The Good Things' score) and Plan C (write original track)
  • Sep 24 - Began q-tip blood tests for drying times and color (1st Round)
  • Sep 28 - Finished 1st Round of drying blood color tests

  • Oct 06 - Opening shots outlined, cuts set to first verse of "Unchained Melody; closing shots outlined, cuts set to final verse of "Unchained Melody"
  • Oct 14 - First design for "smokescreen" effect in final scene
  • Oct 20 - Test footage of first design idea for primary "heart" effect
  • Oct 21 - Wrote first draft of 3rd/final act
  • Oct 25 - Began designing the infected cat prop and the infected skeleton prop
  • Oct 26 - 2nd design for "smokescreen" (much better, simpler, and cheaper); wrote alternate scenes for 3rd act; ordered mold for creating the heart prop (version 2)
  • Oct 27 - Researching steadicams to build custom devices for HSIHR
  • Oct 31 - First attempt at using mold to make gelatin heart (strawberry-flavored!)

  • Nov 02 - Test footage for "Basement" scenes; scared the shit out of myself

  • Nov 16 - Best Buy selling $100 iTunes Gift Cards for $80; bought 3; use to buy $300 Final Cut Pro editing software (for $240); thrifty; budget filmmaking
  • Nov 20 - Began designing specifics of "demon" face-A and face-B​
  • Nov 25 - Began demoing The Good Things' cover-1 of "Unchained Melody" for film score
WEEK OF DEC 05, 2016
  • Purchased Final Cut software—pre-production can begin sooner than expected
  • ​New lenses and "selfie stick" for iPhone test footage
